Acne is a common skin disorder affecting many teenagers. It is the disorder of pilo sebaceous apparatus (sebaceous hair follicle). Each hair follicle contains a tiny hair and a sebaceous gland. The sebaceous gland is made up of multiple lobes and it produces sebum. Sebum is an oily substance that normally lubricates the skin gets trapped in blocked oil ducts and results in what we know as pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads on the surface of skin. Sometimes it also includes deeper skin lesions that are called cysts.

Dietary Treatment for Acne The Basic treatment lies in switching from processed and sugary foods (junk food, soda, and sweets) to organic whole foods. Next to support the balance of healthy flora in gut.

Herbal Support for Acne Bitter, alterative (blood cleansing) herbs are indicated. A few are manjishta (Rubia cordifolia) and anantmul (Indian sarsaparilla).

Local Skin Therapy Promoting sweating helps clear the pores. This can be accomplished with regular B exercise or a sauna, followed by a shower.

The Ayurvedic formula triphala used internally is an effective bowel and blood cleanser, but it can also be used externally as an herbal & mask; Mix powdered triphala with a little water to make a paste. If you have a natural clay or mung bean flour you can add that as well to help it stick. Apply liberally to the affected areas, let it dry, and then rinse with cool water.

Stress with Acne Regular meditation, yoga, and breathing practices help cultivate a transcendent and peaceful state of consciousness that alleviates stress at its psychological roots.

Drug treatment, along with being dangerous, does nothing to address the underlying causes of these imbalances, and allows the same destructive habits to continue and cause further damage.

Holistic health care is need of time to listens to these imbalances of disharmonious eating and living, and thus improving our health and peace.

Definition:-Acne is a common skin disease that causes pimples. Pimples form when hair follicles under your skin clog up.

Most pimples form on the face, neck, back, chest and shoulders. Anyone can get acne, but it is common in teenagers and young adults. It is not serious, but it can cause scar.

Causes:-Researchers believe carbohydrates with a high glycemic index, which cause glucose and insulin levels to spike, may influence the development and severity of acne. Conversely, a diet high in protein and carbohydrates with a low glycemic index seemed to improve acne breakouts.

Emotional stress has long been believed to have an impact on acne severity.

Ayurvedic Concept:- Acne are referred as Youvana pitikas (which means the eruptions of youth) in ayurveda. This shows the prevalence of acne from ages.

Kaptha and vata are the two main doshas that cause acne and pimples. Rakta dhatu or blood also forms acne.

Unhealthy diet and lifestyles vitiate vata, which in turn affects two doshas, kapha and pitta, to get provoked. Goaded pitta affects rakta dhatu or blood.

The flawed blood causes excess secretion of oil from sebaceous glands. Kapha which already has oily property, when forced impart the stickiness to the oil produced by sebaceous glands of skin. Therefore the thick sebaceous blocks are formed in skin pores and hair follicles escorting to upsurge of acne.

Treatment:- Balancing doshas by adopting the modified diet and life styles.

Expelling imbalanced doshas by using herbal tablets.
  1. Massaging face regularly with the herbal oil kinshukadi tailam.
  2. Applying a face pack containing masoora, kushta, kaaliyaka etc after every massage.
  3. Panchkarma Procedures.

Ayurveda claims that following the above procedures for seven days helps achieve a face free from pimples, acne and its scars, and dark circles.

Kinshukadi Thailam is an ayurvedic product which is excellent for the skin treatment especially for dark circles under the eyes, very effective in improving the colour and texture of your skin, black spots on the face, ringworm infection, pimples etc. of the face.

Testimonial For Training

The training has been a valuable asset to my current profession as a massage therapist. More importantly, the enthusiastic one on one with the staff here at the center has made me realize how much more there is to know about the wonderful world of Ayurvedic medicine.

This course has been very informative, well planned, and through. The doctors & staff are patient & kind, receptive to all my questions. I recommend this course for lay person as well as professionals.
